Thank you Candice for your response. Yes my accountant advised me the same thing (although he did admit he was guessing)and that we continue using our GST number.
I'm hoping they keep the same "simplified" method for the HST as well.
Regards!

Hi Tony: As far as I know you simply start collecting the HST as of July 1st. Then, when you do your calculation for your 2010 HST/GST remittance, you account for half the year being GST and half being HST. I think they will release more information about that soon, but essentially Jan-June will be on one remittance rate (It was 3.6% last year if I recall) and July-Dec will be on the new HST remittance rate (last year this was 8.8% for HST provinces, don't know if that will change).

Cheers,

Hello Candice
Ontario RMT here as well.
HST .. grrrr.
I have been searching the CRA site trying to find out information on how we are supposed to handle the change over from a collection remittance perspective. No luck so far and as per usual not information from them on how we are supposed to prepare.
I have been on the simplified method for fourteen years now.
Have you found out any information?
I'll try calling them this week. God bless me! lol
Thanks

Great post, this sounds like a great time. I think historically this goes back a ways... at the Toronto archives there are lots of pix of people skating at The Pits!

Candice,
Let me know if you want to include bellydancing in your Fitness Fun posts... not necessarily in our neighbourhood, but I know a great and well-informed teacher.

Ken: check out http://www.yogaforrunners.ca, this is Christine Felstead's website. She teaches yoga class series specifically for runners, and I believe she hosts classes in a variety of Toronto locations.

Ken: Not any specific to my neighbourhood, but I do know of two very reputable studios that offer such classes:

http://www.breatheyogastudio.com (Bloor West Village)
http://www.theyogasanctuary.net/ (Downtown and Danforth)
